Swine flu death toll reaches 332 in Gujarat

With eight more persons succumbing to swine flu today, the death toll due to H1N1 virus in Gujarat this year has reached 332.

While 110 fresh cases of the swine flu infection were reported taking the total number of confirmed cases to 5,521, the health department said in a statement.

Two deaths each were reported from Bhavnagar and Surat districts, one each at Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Sabarkantha and Jamnagar.

As many as 4,044 patients have been cured so far, the statement said.

Meanwhile, around ten thousand lawyers affiliated to Ahmedabad District Bar Association, who went on five-day leave due to the swine flu outbreak in the city, are likely to resume work from March 9.
 

"We are not going to extend our vacation which ended today as the situation has improved a bit. We are likely to resume work from Monday," president of Ahmedabad district bar association Rajesh Parekh said.
