Swine flu toll rises to 62 in Punjab, Haryana

The death toll due to swine flu in Punjab and Haryana has touched 62, officials said here today.

While 40 deaths have taken place due to swine flu in Punjab, the H1N1 virus has taken toll of 22 people in Haryana, the officials said.

The total number of swine flu patients in Punjab is 166 whereas the number of such patients in Haryana is 173.

Meanwhile, Haryana's health director Dr Kamla Singh said that the situation is under control.

"The virus will disappear from the environment within a week, possibly with the rise in temperatures," she added.
