Swiss national, who was granted bail by the Kerala High Court after his July 28 arrest for allegedly attending a memorial meeting for a Maoist, was released from the prison here this afternoon, police said.
Jonathan Baud was arrested from nearby Triprayar and remanded to judicial custody for attending the memorial function held for a Maoist activist at Valappad.
Kerala High court had directed him to deposit Rs one lakh in cash and to surrender his passport with the Kodungallor Judicial First Class Magistrate.

He was also directed by the High court to produce an undertaking from the Swiss Embassy to the effect that they will make available the accused for investigation or trial.
The case against him was that he had allegedly violated conditions of his tourist visa.
His bail plea was earlier rejected by a lower court.
24-year-old Baud, who arrived in Kerala on July 10, claimed he had not committed any crime as alleged by police.
