Swiss woman held at IGI Airport with satellite phone

A Swiss woman has been apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the IGI Airport here for allegedly carrying a satellite phone illegally in her luggage, a senior official said Monday.

I Emmenegger, a native of Switzerland, was apprehended after the phone was detected in her baggage on Sunday, he said.

The woman, who works as a tour operator, was travelling to Kathmandu (Nepal) from here. She was handed over to the Delhi Police as carrying a satellite phone is banned under law, the official said.

The communication gadget is allowed only for defence and other authorised category of people, he added.
