Synthite Industries Ltd, which has earned a foreign exchange of Rs 688.09 crore during 2013 calendar year, has bagged the top exporter award.
The award was received by Dr Viju Jacob, Deputy Managing Director of Synthite at a function here last night,organised in connection with customs day.
The Kerala based Synthite Industries mainly exports spice oils and oleoresins.

Olam Agro India Ltd, which came second, earned Rs 628.32 crore and Apollo Tyres ltd Rs 442.99 crore, a Customs press release said.
The first three top importers are MRF Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Indian Oil Corporation.
While Emirates Airlines, which had handled a total export-import cargo of 12,041 tonnes last year, Qatar Airways (4913 tonnes) and Jet Airways (4565 tonnes) won the second and third slots respectively.
Awards for top customs brokers and steam agents were also given away at the function in which P K Hormis Tharakan, former chief of Research and Analysis wing was the chief guest.
For the first time cargo handling Airlines were also honoured by the Department.
