T'gana government to come up with new parking policy

The Telangana government today said it will soon come out with a "parking policy" to handle the ever-increasing traffic problems in all major cities across the state.

According to an official release Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K T Rama Rao today held a review meeting with senior officials of police department and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

"As many as 700 new vehicles are coming on roads everyday in Hyderabad. The new policy will provide solution to many issues such as parking, ease of traffic among others.

"The policy is being designed after thoroughly studying systems in various cities in the country," the release said.
 

The policy which will be implemented on pilot basis in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissionarates initially, is expected to be enforced all over the state by the year end.

An exclusive app for finding parking space will be developed and will be made available by the time policy is implemented, it said.
