The Telangana government would take steps to make agriculture profitable and also to ensure remunerative price to the farmers, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said here today.

Rao, who held a meeting with ministers and officials, said the state government has already decided to offer a financial assistance of Rs 8000 per acre to the farmers (from next year), according to a release from his office.

The state government has also decided to organise farmers into associations at difference levels for their benefit, Rao said.

Rao sought the officials to conduct studies on ground realities and to prepare an action plan to guide the farmers towards making agriculture profitable, the release added.
