The Special Additional District and Sessions Court (Marad Cases) at Eranhipalam has been entrusted with the trial.
Judge R Narayana Pisharadi directed that copy of the documents that were submitted as evidence in the murder case be handed over to the accused.
On the direction of the court, out of the 76 accused, 72 were produced before the court. Two of the accused are absconding while another two had sought leave.
The bail pleas of Rejikanth and Rajith, both accused, will be considered on December 6.
The case relates to the killing of Chandrasekharan, who quit the CPI-M and floated the RMP, by a seven-member gang at Onchiyam on May 4.
P Mohanan, CPI-M Kozhikode district member, Karayi Rajan, member of the Kannur district secretariat, P K Kunhanandan, member of the Panur area committee and C H Ashokan, secretary of the Onchiyam area committee have been charge-sheeted in the case.
Police had made tight security arrangements at the court in view of the presence of the large number of accused.
