Rapper T-Pain has announced that he will be embarking on an acoustic tour in October this year.

The 31-year-old musician took to Instagram to break the news.

"Hitting the road this October for an acoustic tour! I wanted to do something different for you guys...

"Performing some of my favourite songs in a way you've never seen or heard. Tickets on sale this Friday at tpaintour.Com #TPainAcousticTour," T-Pain wrote.

The tour opens from October 4 at San Francisco's The Independent and will close on October 30 at U Street Music Hall in Washington, DC.

Joining T-Pain as supporting acts are rappers Smino and Felly.

The trek is inspired by his 2014 'Tiny Desk' concert for NPR that he performed without auto-tune.
