T R Baalu declares assets worth Rs 20.15 cr

Senior DMK leader and former Union minister T R Baalu today disclosed a total asset of Rs 20.15 crore including those in the name of his two wives, which is nearly three times that of Rs 7.69 crore declared in 2009.

Baalu, a former Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways during UPA-I regime and a five-term MP, disclosed the details of his assets in an affidavit filed along with his nomination papers for Thanjavur constituency in the Cauvery delta region.

He has 6,67,600 shares of Kings India Chemicals Corporation, an enterprise owned by his family with a current market value of Rs 13,35,200.
 

Baalu, the sitting MP from Sriperumbudur, owns a Mercedes Benz car and his wife T R B Porkodi has 1050 gm gold jewellery with stones approximately valued at Rs 25 lakh. His another spouse B Renuka Devi has 800 gm gold jewellery with stones valued at Rs 20 lakh approximately.

He has movable property worth Rs 74.92 lakh while his two wives togther have movable property worth Rs 90.82 lakh. He has given Rs 5 lakh as loan to his party colleague and Rajya Sabha member Trichy Siva.

DMK Parliamentary Party leader since 2009, Baalu owns agricultural land of 33 acres in Pudukottai and Tiruvarur districts. His wife Porkodi owns a bungalow in Chennai's upscale Kodambakkam area. His other wife Renukadevi owns farm lands of 16.90 acres in Pudukottai district.

Baalu has Rs 3 lakh cash in hand and his spouses Porkodi and Renukadevi have Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 cash respectively.

He also has liability of Rs 1.03 Crore and Porkodi Rs 6.90 lakh.
