Tabs for Jharkhand school girls

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced that the state government would distribute tablet computers to girls of a school in the state.

"Tablets will be given to students between 9th and 12th classes of all Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools in the state," Das said.

Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools are state-run schools.

Stating that the government's priority is to provide quality education to students of all sections, he said 34,000 teachers would be recruited within the next six months.

Toilets would be constructed in government schools within a year and electricity and other basic amenities would also be provided to government schools.
 

Appealing to people to send daughters to school, he described imparting education to girls as a pious deed because education is important for making the nation prosperous.

Addressing a programme in Ranchi, Das asked teachers and students to take responsibility in keeping school environment clean.

HRD Secretary Aradhana Patnaik and Ranchi Mayor Asha Lakra were among several dignitaries present at the function.
