: Tractor-manufacturer Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE) Ltd Wednesday said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Petroleum Conservation Research Association to aid conservation of resources.

Under the MoU, the association plans to joinly conduct agricultural workshops by involving TAFE's dealership network.

The workshop would help spread awareness on the advantages of better maintenance and upkeep of the tractors, resulting in lesser fuel consumption and maximising productivity, among others, a press release said.

The research association plays a role in proposing policies and strategies to the government of India on petroleum conservation aimed at reducing excessive dependence of the country on oil, the release said.

The MoU was signed by the association's executive director Alok Tripathi and TAFE president and COO-product strategy and corporate relations T R Kesavan, it said.

Contributing towards energy conservation and reducing dependency, this joint CSR effort by TAFE and PCRA would help the farmers minimise costs through conservation, recycling and use of alternate energy.

The engagement would further include joint outreach events and knowledge-sharing modules for farmers curated by PCRA through TAFE's JFarm Services application, it added.
