Taiwan's Verico enters India

Taiwan based electronics manufacturer Verico today announced its entry into the Indian market with the launch of a quad-core smartphone priced at Rs 8,999.

The company has partnered with ecommerce firm Snapdeal to sell its product here.

The Uni Shape 5V3 has 13 megapixel rear and 5MP front camera with flash, 2100 mAh battery, 1GB RAM and a 4GB hard drive. It has external slot which is expandable upto 64GB using memory card.

"India is an exciting market for Verico and we feel the timing is right to enter and leverage the explosive demand for Smartphones, Tablets and related accessories," Verico India CEO Kuldip Sengar said in a statement.

DataWind partners HomeShop18 to sell its mobile devices

Low cost mobile devices maker DataWind today announced partnership with virtual retailer HomeShop18 to launch sales programs across broadcast, mobile and internet media for its UbiSlates tablets.

"The partnership augurs well for both the companies just as it increases access to our low cost android tablets, the addition of our range to HomeShop18 platform enriches their overall offering," Datawind President and CEO Suneet Singh Tuli said in a statement.
