National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) today sought action against the police official, who allegedly failed to act on the complaint of 19-year-old Meenakshi who was stabbed to death by two brothers for protesting against their verbal abuse.
A Delhi Police official today appeared before the NCSC in a case relating to the death of the 19-year-old girl Meenakshi in Anand Parbat area.
According to a statement, DCP of Central Delhi district police Pramaditya appeared with the action taken report in the case, in which Meenakshi was brutally stabbed to death allegedly by two brothers living in the Anand Parbat area for protesting their verbal abuse on July 16.

NCSC Vice Chairman Rajkumar Verka questioned why no action was taken by the police, when the victim had made a previous complaint, the statement said.
Verka also sought action against the police official, who allegedly failed to take action based on the complaint of the deceased, it said.
The NCSC vice chairman also asked for recording the statement of the victim's mother in the light of her allegations that the mother of the accused brothers, Shashi was also involved but no action was taken against her by the police, the statement added.
It further said that though the Commission had issued a notice to Police Commissioner for appearance, but the DCP had appeared on his behalf.
Taking serious note of the brutal murder of Meenakshi, the Commission also issued notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal seeking to enhance the solatium to Meenakshi's family to Rs 20 lakh, the statement said.
