Take inspiration from Indian muslims: Dargah functionary to

People in Islamic countries should take inspiration from Shia and Sunni Muslims in India who are living in peace and harmony across the country, a senior functionary of Ajmer Dargah said today.

Ajmer Dargah Diwan Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, delivering his annual message during the fifth day of the 803rd Urs of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, expressed concerns over rising sectarian violence in most parts of the Islamic countries.

He called upon the people in Islamic countries to live with peace and not indulge in any conflict while taking inspiration from Indian muslims who live in peace and harmony.
 

"Islamic countries should adopt Indian Muslim ways of living in which all Islamic sects like Shias and Sunnis, their sub-sects are living in peace across India," he said.

Khan said the Constitution of India give religious freedom to its citizens and the country presents an example of how Shia and Sunni Muslims live together without conflict.

He rued that mosques and other places of Sufiasm were being targeted and innocents attacked in Muslim countries by hardliners which was highly condemnable and should be stopped.

Spiritual heads of various shrines were present on the occasion.
