Take prompt action on complaints received on e-mail IDs: Govt

The Punjab government today directed officials of all departments to respond promptly on the complaints received on their official e-mail IDs.

In a communique in this regard, the Punjab government today directed the authorities concerned that Administrative Reforms Department has created their "exclusive e-mail IDs to facilitate common masses seeking justice from various departments", a Punjab government release said here today.

The communique mentions that it has come to the notice that some of the departments and officers concerned are not informing the complainants and not taking the public grievances seriously, it said.

Instructions in this regard have been conveyed to all Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries for the compliance of the directions, the release said.
 

"All concerned have been directed to resolve the public grievances received on their e-mail IDs, besides ensuring timely and according-to-rules delivery of justice," it said.

It has also been directed to ensure issue of acknowledgement receipt to the complainant within 24 hours of the filing of the complaint.

The complainants should also be informed about the time line of resolving public grievances.
