:Milk producers in Tamil Nadu should take steps to create a "second white revolution" and make the state a leader in milk production, Milk and Dairy Development Minister B V Ramana said today.
Speaking at a review meeting with milk producers and top government officials here, he asked the milk producers to revamp the existing associations to strengthen them and ensure that Tamil Nadu leads in milk production, an official release said.
The state government recently announced an increase in milk prices by Rs 10 per litre following demands by milk producers drawing flak from political parties who have announced agitations over the issue.

About 2.44 lakh milk producers in Salem, Kanyakumari, Madurai, Coimbatore and Tiruchirapalli and other districts who generated surplus revenue would receive additional incentive of Rs 51.35 crore, he said.
