Expressing grief over the death of Sarabjit Singh in a Pakistani hospital, the head of Ajmer Dargah, Diwan Zainul Abedin Ali Khan today demanded that the Indian government takes up the matter with International Human Rights Commission.

"This was the conspiracy of ISI to disturb communal peace in India but Indians should remain united and give a strong message to Pakistan," the spiritual head of the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti said.

"The murder of Sarabjit Singh in an Islamic country is very shameful for Pakistan. It is un-Islamic act which has insulted the Muslim across the world," he said.

Ali said that the Centre should raise the matter with International Human Rights Commission.

Sarabjit died of cardiac arrest in a Lahore hospital in the wee hours today after being comatose for nearly a week following a brutal assault by fellow inmates in a high- security jail.
