A talathi attached to Pusad tehsil in the district was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 at Harshi village, ACB officials said.
Talathi Bhivaji Amrutrao Kokate demanded a bribe of Rs 4,000 from the complainant for deleting the name of his sister from the 7/12 extract and to prepare a mutation certificate in his name for the ancestral property, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Yavatmal ACB, Satish Deshmukh said.
Following a complaint lodged by the victim, the ACB laid a trap and then caught him red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant and arrested him.
Further investigation is on.
