Ten days after he was killed in a Taliban attack on a NATO supply company's compound in Kabul, the body of Kaushik Chakraborty reached his home in Nadia district in a coffin today.

The wail of the 27-year-old man's family members reverberated in Srinathpur locality in Ranaghat area as the coffin containing the body was lowered on the ground near his home.

Kaushik, working there as a laundry manager for two years, was one of the three Indians killed in Taliban attack on July 2. The two others were from Andhra Pradesh.

Kaushik's wife Deblina could not say anything as their two-year-old son Aahan trying to understand what was happening.

Kaushik's father Sushanta Chakraborty said, "He had planned to return within a year permanently to start a business here. But now everything is shuttered."

People in large numbers gathered near the house to have a glimpse of the body creating a chaotic situation there.

Later, the body was cremated in the electric crematorium of Shantipur.

The Taliban suicide attack on a NATO supply company's compound in Kabul killed at least nine people on that day.
