Taliban militant arrested in Pak

A Pakistani Taliban militant, who was allegedly involved in attacks on government installations including blowing up of power transmission lines, was today arrested during a raid in this northwestern city.

Tehreek-e-Taliban militant Rasheed Khan was arrested by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Shah Qabool area, an interior city here, police said.

Khan was involved in attacks on government installations including blowing up of power transmission lines.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had announced Rs 5 lakh on the head of the arrested terrorist.

Meanwhile, police also arrested 20 suspects including Afghan nationals and recovered arms and ammunition during search and strike operation in Bana Mari Police Station here.
 

The Bannu police also carried out counter-terrorism raids at various parts of the district and arrested at least 20 suspects and recovered illegal arms from their possession.
