Kerala minister for Industry and Information Technology, P K Kunhalikutty dismissed as 'irrelevant and absurd' the speculation doing rounds over the reshuffle of the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy led cabinet.

Talking to newsmen on the sidelines of the Confederation Indian Industry's Next Gen Conclave here the minister said, " the Chief Minister had not yet opened his mind on the size and shape of the reshuffle or whether there was any need for such an exercise at this juncture."

Talks in this regard would be relevant only after Chandy disclosed his mind, he added, hence any talk of reshuffle would absolutely be meaningless.

"No scope for a controversy on the reported reshuffle of the cabinet," he said.

Answering a query, the minister said that the decision of the cabinet yesterday to grant 699 Plus two batches in 13l Panchayts of the State where there was no Plus facilities at present was done after detailed discussions and deliberations of all concerned.

New Plus two batches were granted where they were in dire need of them, he said and rejected criticism that the measure would cast additional financial burden on the state exchequer.

He expressed hope that the decision of the cabinet yesterday would solve all the problems in the Higher Secondary section of education in the State.
