The talks between Himachal Pradesh University authorities and representatives of major student organisations failed today as the varsity refused to accept the main demands of students.

The students' organisation are demanding the university to withdraw fee hike and restoration of students central association polls.

The representatives of ABVP, SFI and NSUI participated in the talks with varsity vice chancellor A D N Bajpai, who refused to accept both the demands.

The students' organisations said that fee hike would hit the poor students and they would be deprived of higher education.

However, the VC welcomed any suggestion from the student leaders regarding re-structuring of fee.
