Talwara migrants today staged a demonstration against state government alleging non-implementation of High Court orders to pay relief to them.

They assembled under the banner of Talwara Migrant Action Committee (TMAC) in front of the Reasi Deputy Commissioner office and shouted slogans against state government for its alleged failure to grant them relief package at par with Kashmiri Migrants as per the directions of the Court.

Migrants alleged that they were denied the justice while the relief for Kashmiri Migrants has been revised a number of times till date.

"Every migrant of Kashmir has been allotted land and house but the Jammu Migrants are completely ignored by the state government which speaks about the volume of discrimination with the region" a TMAC protester alleged.

Their Contempt application was referred by the Supreme Court to the J-K High Court Chief Justice in this regard in 2008, in which it was directed to release the relief within three months but is still pending, migrants claimed.
