Tamil Nadu bags Guinness award for screening breast cancer

A medical camp conducted in Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu for identifying breast cancer has bagged the Guinness World Record for screening 2,037 women at a single place.

The ruling AIADMK had conducted special medical camps across 10 places in Tamil Nadu in connection with the International Women's Day.

A medical camp for screening breast cancer was also conducted in Dharmapuri district in which 2,037 women participated, a party statement said.

Screening of 2,037 women for breast cancers at a single place has surpassed the previous record, it said.

Guiness World Records India representative Lucia Sinigagliesl presented the certificate to AIADMK Women's wing secretary S Sasikala today, the release said.
 

Tamil Nadu State Commission for Women, Chairperson, Visalakshi Nedunchezhiyan and ministers P Palaniappan and Gokula Indira were present on the occasion, it said.
