Tamil Nadu enters quarterfinals of junior women nationals

Tamil Nadu decimated Gujarat 12-0 in a pool B match, to enter the quarterfinals of the 3rd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship.

Brindha Esther and Parameshwari scored three goals each for Tamil Nadu, while Swetha (2), Kalavathi (1), Vembarasi (1), Durachi Rajam (1) and Punitra (1) were the other goal scorers, at the Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi.

In a pool D league match, Priyanka Wankhede scored five goals as Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPHA) defeated Andhra Pradesh 17-0.

The goal scorers for MPHA were Priyanka Wankhede (2, 7, 18, 40, 41 min), Shikha Sharma (8 min), R Ramngaihzuali (17, 48, 49 min), Nikharika Saxena (20min), H Lalruateeli (30, 56 min), Diksha Tiwari (43, 58 min), Reena Rathore (59 min), Shyma Tigdam (61, 65 min).
