Tammy Pescatelli, one of the comedians who accused Amy Schumer of joke stealing has back tracked on her comments, admitting that she may have taken things too far.

Appearing on "Opie with Jim Norton", Pescatelli apologised to Schumer, saying the "Trainwreck" star has 'every right to be mad', reported Entertainment Tonight.

"I said what I said, and it is probably, you know, parallel thinking. That does happen. I am no genius on that," Pescatelli said.

"I'm not breaking any new ground, as I've witnessed time and time again during my shows and especially on the Internet over the past couple days.

"What you guys do know about me is that I'm a loyal friend. I was the last to the party and drank the most and was the loudest. I probably should have just stayed out of it and kept my mouth shut. I shouldn't have accused somebody."

Pescatelli added that while she believes Schumer's jokes and those by herself and fellow comedians Kathleen Madigan and Wendy Liebman were too similar to write off completely as coincidence, she doesn't blame Schumer.

Earlier this week Schumer was accused of joke stealing, after a now deleted video appeared online comparing her material to that of other female comedians.

On "Opie with Jim Norton", Schumer addressed the allegations and even offered to take a polygraph test.

"I'm getting accused of stealing jokes and I wanted to come and talk to you about it and clear my name because I would never ever do that and never have. I would never, ever do that, and I never have.

"I have to come up with so much material for my TV show, this movie, stand-up. And I'm so careful. I will literally take a polygraph. And I just would never do that. That would be so stupid for me to do that.
