Tanker lorries on strike in Kerala

: Movement of Petroleum products in Kerala was hit today following the 24-hour strike by tanker lorries which began this morning.

The tanker lorry operators are on strike demanding withdrawal of the Transport Commissioner's stipulations that tanker lorries should have two drivers and a helper while criss-crossing the state.

The lorries are also not supposed to ply between 8 am and 11 am and between 4 pm and 6 pm.

The strike is being organised by All Kerala LPG Truck and Tanker lorry dealers, owners and workers co-ordination committee.

Tankers transporting petrol, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel and LPG are participating in the strike.
