A Tantrik (sorcerer) has been arrested for allegedly raping a married woman of Narela area here, police said today.
A case of rape was registered at Narela police station on the complaint of the victim yesterday, after which the accused Praveen (28), native of village Jathedi in Sonepat district of Haryana was arrested by a police team from his village, said Ghanshaym Bansal Additional DCP (I) of Outer Delhi.
The victim in her complaint reported that she had fallen ill after she lost her daughter two years ago and was taken to the Tantrik Praveen for cure at his village Jathedi, by her husband.
Praveen allegedly advised her to visit him regularly on five Saturdays. He also started visiting her house and one day when she was alone, he raped her, said the officer.
As per the complaint of the victim, she was repeatedly raped by the Tantrik.
The accused Tantrik has studied just upto class 5 and his father Pratap Soni runs a cycle repair shop in his native village, added the officer.
