"I urge the state government to address the long pending genuine demands of its employees. Negotiations alone could resolve the issues between the government and employees. Shrugging off from responsibilities by either sides is against the public interests," CPI(M) state secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today said.
He also appealed to the state government to take steps for addressing the long pending demands of employees like regularisation of daily wagers and contractual staff, removal of pay anomalies, increase in remuneration and timely payment of wages.
Referring to his calling attention motion seeking a hike in remuneration of Rehbar-e-Taleem employees, the CPI(M) leader expressed anguish over how the authorities in the state "took the august House at a ride".
In reply to the motion, the government on March 5 had assured the Legislative Assembly that Rs 3000 would be paid to ReTs with effect from April this year, he said.
