Jharkhand government today set up two task forces, both headed by Development Commissioner, in its effort to eradicate poverty and develop the agriculture sector.
Announcing this, state Chief Minister Raghubar Das said his government intended to elevate people living Below Poverty Line within the next two to three years.
Currently 37 per cent of the state population live under the BPL.

In order to lift the standard of living of the people, development of agriculture sector was necessary as a large portion of the state's population live in villages and depend on agriculture, he said.
Strengthening the agriculture sector would improve the rural economy, he added.
