Tata Chemicals today said its fertiliser plant at Babrala in Uttar Pradesh has resumed operation after temporary shutdown for regular maintenance.

The company last month temporarily shut down its fertiliser plant at Babrala for about 30 days due to regular maintenance work.

In a filing to the BSE, Tata Chemicals informed that "operations at the company's fertiliser plant at Babrala have resumed after temporary shutdown for scheduled maintenance."

The operations were shut down for the purpose of the planned, regular, major maintenance programme generally taken once in two years. The company had said that the shutdown would not have material financial impact on the company.

The plant has installed capacity of 8.64 lakh tonnes of urea per year, which constitutes nearly 12 per cent of the total urea produced by the country's private sector.
