Tata Metaliks Q2 net profit jumps 54% to Rs 33 cr

Pig iron producer Tata Metaliks today reported 54 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 33.55 crore for the quarter ended September 30.

The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 21.73 crore during the same period a year ago.

Total income of the company grew to Rs 450.47 crore from Rs 343.08 crore in the year-ago period.

During July-September, the company's total expenses were higher at Rs 405.29 crore as against Rs 313.49 crore in the three-month period of last fiscal.

Tata Metaliks, a subsidiary of Tata Steel, has manufacturing plant at Kharagpur, West Bengal. It produces pig iron and ductile iron pipes.
 

The plant's annual hot metal production capacity is 5 lakh tonnes out of which 2 lakh tonnes is converted into ductile iron (DI) pipes and 3 lakh tonnes into pig iron.

Shares of the company today ended up 2.93 per cent at Rs 741.15 apiece on BSE.
