Tata Power, Gamesa India sign pact for 100 mw wind project

Tata Power and renewable energy firm Gamesa India have entered into a pact for a 100 mw wind turbine project in Andhra Pradesh.

The 100 mw turnkey project will entail the supply, erection and commissioning of 50 units of wind turbines in Andhra Pradesh by May 2017, Tata Power said a statement.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd CEO & Executive Director Rahul Shah said in the statement that the company is delighted to be working with Gamesa, a global leader in wind turbine technology, for the 100 MW project at Nimbagallu in Andhra Pradesh.

This apart, Gamesa is further contracted to offer long term operations and maintenance agreement to ensure smooth functioning of the wind farm, the statement said.
 

In another release, Tata Power said that it has completed uprating of its second transmission line between Kalwa and Salsette for Mumbai.

Uprating of the transmission line means increasing the capacity of the line to carry power.

"The company announced the completion of uprating of existing transmission line no 4 between MSETCL Kalwa receiving station and Tata Power Salsette receiving station...By replacing existing conductor with high ampacity conductor," the statement said.
