Tata Power Solar has commissioned a 12 MW solar rooftop project for Radha Soami Satsang Beas Educational and Environmental Society (RSSB-EES) in Amritsar.
"Built across 8 sheltered venues in a single premise at the Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB) - Dera Baba Jaimal Singh in Amritsar, the project is the largest solar rooftop plant in the world, set up in a single phase," Tata Power Solar said in a press release today.
According to the statement, the plant will produce more than 150 lakh units of power annually and offset over 19,000 tonnes of carbon emissions every year.

Gamesa Electric bags solar photovoltaic project in Hondurus
* Spain-based wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa Electric has bagged a solar photovoltaic project, involving supply of solar power stations and controls for a 53,31 MWp project in Hondurus.
"This project is signed two and a half months after our former 50MWdc plant in the Philippines and adds to the 32MWp in Panama, 23,5MWp in UK and 10MWp in India recently announced by the company, which joins to a total accumulated order backlog of more than 275MWp in the last one and a half year," it said in a statement.

MCX in pact with Chitkara Univ for financial education * Commodity exchange MCX today signed an agreement with Punjab's Chitkara University for supporting financial literacy among its students.

Alliance Air to start 3 new flights from Bhopal
* Alliance Air, a subsidiary of national carrier Air India, will start three new flights from Bhopal.
The flights on Bhopal-Jabalpur-Hyderabad and Bhopal-Raipur-Pune sectors would commence from May 23 while the direct flight to Jabalpur would start from June 16.
72-seater ATR aircraft would be used in these routes, Air India said in a release today.
The flight on Bhopal-Jabalpur-Hyderabad would operate on Tuesdays, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday while the Bhopal-Raipur-Pune as well as the direct flight to Jabalpur would be on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Currently, Alliance Air operates flights to 31 domestic destinations.

8K Miles net profit rises 10 pc at Rs 12.35 cr * Cloud solutions provider 8K Miles Software Services today reported almost 10 per cent jump in net income at Rs 12.35 crore for the January-March quarter.
Revenue for the quarter showed over 16.6 per cent growth at Rs 86.36 crore over the same period last year.
For the full year, the Chennai-headquartered but US-focused company saw its net income more than double to Rs 39.6 crore while the revenue rose 117.5 per cent to Rs 272.14 crore.
The company also announced a major appoints to its advisory board.

Sankhya Data Center gets LEED v4 Platinum certification * The US Green Building Council (USGBC) today said that ITC Sankhya Data Center at Bengaluru has become the first project in India to get LEED v4 Platinum certification for green building.
ITC Sankhya Data Center is also the first LEED v4 Platinum data center in the world. To date, four countries have their first LEED v4 Platinum buildings -- India, China, Mexico and Canada.
It is the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) v4 Platinum building in India, as represented in USGBC's ongoing LEED Earth campaign which was launched in June 2013, the council said in a statement.

Karnataka Bank launches Cash Back campaign up to Rs 10 lakh * Karnataka Bank has launched 'Cash Back Campaign' for customers holding VISA debit cards for value up to Rs 10 lakh.
The campaign will run from May 10 to June 10.
During the period, more than 3,200 cardholders, the top spenders both in terms of value and volume of transactions, will get cash back aggregating to Rs 10,00,000, it said in a regulatory filing today.
As per the scheme, cardholders who have done minimum five POS/swiping or online transactions with a minimum value of Rs 200 each will qualify.
