An employee of Tata Steel, who was undergoing treatment at Psychiatry department of the Tata Main Hospital (TMH),today committed suicide on the roof of Outside Patient Department of the hospital here.
The victim identified as 54-year-old T Ramana Rao, who was an employee of Tata Steel here, hanged himself to death after he registered his name for consultation with a doctor of TMH, police sources said.
A suicide note was recovered but could not provide details of the content immediately.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, police added. Meanwhile, describing the incident as tragic, Tata Steel in a press statement stated that Rao, a Tata Steel employee based in Jamshedpur, was found dead within the TMH premises.
Rao, who was undergoing treatment at the Psychiatry Department of the hospital, was scheduled for an appointment later in the day.
