Tata Steel MD new chairman of XLRI's Governing Board

Tata Steel Managing Director (India and South East Asia) T V Narendran has become the new Chairman of the XLRI's Governing Board here.

One of India's premier B-Schools XLRI-Xavier School of Management, announced that Narendran succeeded former Tata Steel Managing Director H.M. Nerurkar as the Chairman of XLRI's Governing Board on August 9, a XLRI press release today said.

Prior to taking over the new role as the Chairman, Narendran had joined as a member of XLRI's Governing Board earlier this year.

Welcoming Narendran to the XL family, Fr E Abraham, Director, XLRI, said "we are extremely happy to have him as the new Chairman as Narendran has a rich blend of experience both in the domestic and international business arena. In this era of globalization, his valuable insights would be greatly beneficial to our stakeholders and he would be looked upon as a role model by our student community."
 

Narendran commented, "it is a great privilege to be a part of XLRI that is at the leading edge of management education in South Asia. XLRI has been a pioneer in creating responsible business leaders for over 60 years and I look forward to a truly enriching experience in my new responsibility.
