Tata Steel opens centre to train persons with disabilities

Private steel major Tata Steel has inaugurated a centre for abilities on the occasion of International Day for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) in its operational area at Noamundi in West Singhbhum district.

Dr Asim Kumar Sinha, Deputy Director General Mines Safety, South Eastern Zone, Ranchi inaugurated the Centre 'SABAL' along with Pankaj Satija, General Manager, Ore Mines & Quarries (OMQ) Division, Tata Steel yesterday.

"At Tata Steel, we encourage and celebrate diversity & inclusion and this is one such initiative in this respect that will help shape the future of PWD," a company release quoted Satija said saying.

'SABAL' will groom PWD for a brighter future by offering various courses such as training for trainers programme, disability awareness workshops, digital literacy programme, career awareness workshops, foundation course in computer and employability and similar need-based initiatives, the release said.
