Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council, Vinod Tawde today demanded a special session of the state Legislature to table the action taken report (ATR) in Adarsh housing society scam.

Tawde told reporters here that he would meet state Governor K Sankarnarayanan to request him to ask the government for convening a special session to table the ATR.

Referring to a clause in the Indian Constitution, he said it is necessary for the state government to table the ATR on the Adarsh society scam within six months from the date it was submitted to the government on April 19 this year.

The two-member judicial commission probing the scam had submitted the action taken report to the state government in April this year.

"Therefore, the government should table the report and also hold a discussion on it," Tawde said.
