Taxi driver, man arrested for raping woman

Two men were arrested for allegedly raping a 29-year-old woman in Greater Noida after she took a taxi from Ansal Plaza here, the police said today.

On November 15, the woman had approached K N Katju Police Station with a complaint that she had been raped the night before, they said.

In her complaint, the woman said that around midnight, she had taken a taxi from near Ansal Plaza to go to her home in Rohini. The taxi driver, Praveen Kumar (22), allowed another person to board the vehicle and soon they started misbehaving with her, the police said.

The woman said Kumar and Gaurav (24) forcibly took her to Greater Noida and raped her. They also took away her gold ornaments, mobile phone and Rs 12,000 cash, they said.
 

She managed to reach home and told her family about her ordeal, following which the police were informed.

After tracking her robbed mobile phone, the accused were arrested on Thursday, the police said.
