India's largest IT services firm TCS today said it has expanded operations in Texas, US with the addition of 200 employees joining the company as part of the Transamerica deal.

In January this year, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had signed a deal worth over USD 2 billion with Transamerica to administer the latter's life insurance, annuity, supplemental health insurance, and workplace voluntary benefits products, and manage the administration of more than 10 million policies.

"More than 200 former Transamerica employees now work for TCS at this Plano facility (of Transamerica), as part of TCS recruiting and protecting more than 2,200 Transamerica jobs across the US in multiple locations," TCS said in a statement. It added that Texas is a key business hub for TCS in the US with more than 3,500 employees currently working across the state.

"In addition, the new Plano office will mark the company's third location in Texas, with existing TCS offices in Dallas and Houston," it said. Earlier this month, TCS had opened North America Insurance hub for business operations in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as part of the Transamerica deal.

TCS has consistently been a leading industry employer in the US, focused on attracting the best talent. We are proud to welcome more than 200 Texans to our workforce and look forward to partnering with the state, city and local organisations to improve economic and social outcomes for the community, TCS president and global head, banking, financial services and insurance platforms Suresh Muthuswami said.

TCS said it has invested nearly USD 3 billion in the US over the past three years and has been among the top-two IT services job creators in the country.
