TCS launches Center of Excellence for IoT with Intel

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today launched a new Center of Excellence for Internet of Things solutions in collaboration with Intel.

Located at the TCS Hyderabad campus, the Center of Excellence would focus on developing new use cases for various vertical industries and create solution accelerators around Intel technologies for global customers in manufacturing, retail, hi-tech, semiconductors, healthcare and telecom industries, the company said in a statement.

Bajaj Allianz Life launches Special Revival Campaign 2015-16 * Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance today announced a 'Special Revival Campaign' to help policy holders renew their lapsed life insurance policies till January 31, 2016, only for traditional policies.
 

During the campaign, private insurer will give customers a 50 per cent waiver on the interest amount on traditional policies lapsed.

DEN Snapdeal TV- Shop announces top management appointment * DEN Snapdeal TV- Shop, a joint venture between the cable distribution firm DEN Networks and Jasper Infotech, today announced top management appointments.

The company has appointed Amarjot Brar as the Chief of Business Operations and Amit Katyal as the Head of Finance.

Brar, will be responsible for the operational execution for the company, while Katyal will be overseeing the finance operations, the company said in a statement.

Two young Russian scientists being trained at TNAU * Two young Russian scientists are being trained at the Biocatalysts lab of Department of Agricultural Microbiology in city based Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNUA.)

Artemiy Ayusheev and Yulia Samoilovia of Boreskov Institute of Catalysis, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk are being trained under an Indo-Russian joint research project being operated since last year.

Zavery will be based out of company's Japan office.
BankBazaar.Com appoints Navin Chandani as CBDO

* BankBazaar.Com, a financial website, today said it has appointed former VISA executive Navin Chandani as Chief Business Development Officer.

Chandani was previously the Senior Director and Head - Segment Solutions and Consumer Experiences (India and South Asia) at VISA.

Based in Mumbai, Chandani will be responsible for business development and getting more partners for the marketplace, the company said in a statement.

GSF Accelerator to start 5th batch of mentorship programme * GSF Accelerator today said it will start the fifth edition of its three-month mentorship programme for tech startups.

"Applications will be open till July 31. Selected tech startups will get unparalleled access to not only the Indian tech community with hands-on mentorship from five of India's leading tech founders, but also access to GSF's global community of over 400 mentors and startup founders," it said in a statement.

GSF has previously mentored startups like Little Eye Labs (acquired by Facebook in 2014), Pokkt (funded by Jafco, Singtel, Jungle), Zapr (funded by Flipkartand Svaan), Overcart (funded by JSW and Omidyar) and Timesaverz (funded by Unilazer Ventures and others) among others.

Typically, GSF invests in the startups in two rounds: first round of USD 50,000 in each startup, followed by co-investments in seed rounds.
