IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services has launched 'TCS SocialSoccer' app to give football fans a social experience of the FIFA World Cup 2014 through their smartphones and tablets.

The app leverages Big Data and analytics technology to help soccer fans follow the online conversations going on about the world's most widely followed tournament.

"Using sophisticated algorithms, SocialSoccer aggregates real-time analysis of all matches based on Twitter data, tracking sentiment and key talking points from pundits, footballers and fans across the globe," TCS Global Communications Head Pradipta Bagchi told PTI.

"By developing SocialSoccer, we have created an app that allows football fans to track the mood and thoughts of fellow fans from around the world about teams, players and key events, aggregated in real-time," Bagchi added.
