TDP demands removal of 'tainted' ministers from AP cabinet

Main Opposition Telugu Desam Party today demanded removal of 'tainted' ministers from the government and also legal assistance being provided to them be stopped.

TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu met Governor E S L Narasimhan here and sought his intervention for the removal of such ministers.

Naidu wondered how could the ministers accused in the cases involving YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, continue in the state cabinet.

He said that the legal assistance being provided to some of the ministers in connection with corruption cases be withdrawn.

State ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao and P Sabita Reddy have been accused of different charges by CBI in connection with cases involving Jaganmohan Reddy.
 

Both of them had sought to quit, but were asked to continue.

Three other ministers have also been under the CBI scanner, while two more ministers faced allegations of impropriety and wrong-doing.

When asked about governor's response to his demands, he said the Governor gave him a patient hearing.
