TDP Government committed to welfare of poor, farmers: Minister

The TDP-led Government in Andhra Pradesh is committed to the welfare of the poor, farmers and women in the State despite facing a financial crisis, a Minister said today.

Even though the Government is reeling under financial crisis and facing a deficit of Rs 16,000 crore, it has taken several welfare measures for the poor, farmers and women, Minister for Rural Development, Housing and Sanitation K Mrunalini said.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is implementing the pre-poll promises related to raising the pension amount, farm loan waiver and providing uninterrupted power to farmers, she said while talking to reporters at Kakinada collectorate.
 

In the first phase, 40 lakh farmers have benefited from loan wavier, Mrunalini said.
