"TDP is a spent force in the state. That party lacks credibility and also faith of people," Surekha told reporters at Rayachoty, nearly 50 km from here.
Accusing the ruling Congress of doing "injustice" to late chief minister YSR Rajasekhar Reddy's family members, she said "the decline of Congress started when it started a smear campaign against its own late chief minister."
Surekha claimed that YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, currently in jail in an alleged disproportionate assets case, will become the chief minister after 2014 Assembly elections as people of the state are looking for a strong alternative.
"He (Jagan) will emerge unscathed from all the cases pending against him," she said, adding that many leaders who benefited in the YSR government have shifted their loyalties.
