A local court today remanded TDP leader Paritala Sriram in 14-day judicial custody for snatching away a police constable's mobile while the latter was recording a clash between rival political groups.

He has been booked under section 353 of the Indian Penal Code (obstructing public servant).

The incident took place two days ago at Elakkunta village.

While a constable was recording a spat between TDP and YSRCP supporters, Sriram is accused of snatching away the phone and removing its memory card.

His bail plea would be heard tomorrow.
