TDP's Telangana unit today accused the TRS government of failure to get the assurances given to the state in the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act implemented and urged Governor ESL Narasimhan to take up with issue with the Centre.

A delegation led by TDP's Telangana unit president L Ramana met Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum in this regard.

"We bring to your notice that the state government has failed to realise the assurances of bifurcation (of undivided AP) from Centre. We appeal to you on behalf of Telugu Desam Party Telangana to take these to the notice of Central Government for their implementation," the memorandum said.

The assurances made to Telangana in the Re-organisation Act includes establishment of a steel plant at Bayyaram, setting up a tribal university in the state, establishment of a railway coach factory at Kazipet in Warangal district and special concessions for development of backward districts, TDP said in the memorandum.

The NDA government at the Centre has "totally failed" to implement the assurances given to Telangana in the Act, it alleged.
