YSR Congress party today demanded that the ruling TDP government should refrain from interfering in the 'Call Money Racket' case investigation in new capital region Vijayawada.

The opposition party also said it would raise the issue in the upcoming Assembly session.

The Vijayawada Police yesterday booked a case against some people of a company in connection with the case that lent loans to women and allegedly forced them to indulge into immoral activaties when they could not pay the loan amount.

YSRCP leaders alleged that some TDP leaders are involved in the case.

"There are reports which point out that the perpetrators of the crime have links with TDP leaders and are supporters of the ruling party and there are efforts to cover up the issue, but we demand that the culprits should be brought to book," party spokesperson K Parthasarathi told reporters here today.

Officials should comply with the rules and discharge their duty without favour or prejudice to send a right message and that the government should refrain from interfering into the probe. The issue will be raised in the Assembly session, he said.

Efforts should be on to increase economic status of women groups, he added.
