A daily cup of tea, high-speed internet connection, a trustworthy best friend and cuddling are among the things Britons count as 'bare necessities' of modern day life, according to a new survey.
Researchers compiled a list of top 20 things which are the essentials of life for Britons, following a poll of 2,000 adults aged from 18 to 65.
The top three things on the list include an internet connection, television and a cuddle.

A trustworthy best friend, a daily shower and central heating also feature in the list.
Some cannot live without a cup of tea, or hearing an 'I love you' every now and then.
A solid marriage, car, spectacles, coffee, chocolate and glass of wine are also some things Britons can't do without.
A regular night in on the sofa, 'a good cry every now and then' is also required by Britons to unwind, the survey found.
Britons also need a full English breakfast, a foreign holiday once a year, a pint of beer and their iphones.
The research was commissioned by Disney to mark the forthcoming release of The Jungle Book on Blu-ray.
"The notion of life's bare necessities were immortalised in the film's song more than four decades ago," a Disney spokeswoman said.
"It just goes to show that the 'simple bare necessities' really can be accessible to everyone," she said.
